Getting Started with AI Automations (Without Overthinking It)

If you're trying to get into AI automations but aren't sure where to start - this is the simple breakdown.

——————-

Step 1: Learn the Platforms That Matter

There are two main platforms most people use to build AI automations:

  • Make.com

  • N8N

I personally use N8N the most - and here’s why.

N8N is where you actually build your automations.
It’s a visual builder - you drag, drop, and connect blocks to create flows that automate tasks across different tools.

Think of it like your automation command center.

You can connect to hundreds of websites and platforms - Instagram, Slack, Google Sheets, Discord, Notion, you name it.
You can say things like:

  • “When a new message is received, do this…”

  • “Every morning at 9AM, check this website…”

  • “When a new video is posted, download it and run it through AI…”

It supports full integration with ChatGPT, Whisper, ElevenLabs, and other AI tools - so most of your automations can and probably should include AI.

Want to scrape all your latest Instagram videos?
Done.
Want to repurpose one video into five platform-specific scripts and thumbnails?
Easy.
Want to email your leads automatically and personalize each message using AI?
Completely possible - and fast.

And the best part?
You don’t have to guess how to build these.

I release a new N8N automation every week, and each one is fully downloadable from my site.
So you can study them, reuse them, or build your own based on them.

Step 2: Build a Brand to Send People To

Once your automations are running, you need somewhere to send people - especially if you’re generating leads.

That means building a brand.
Ideally with a simple website that explains what you do.

Should you show your face?
Yes - it builds trust.
But if you’re not comfortable with that, no stress. Just make sure your brand looks legit and clear enough that people know what they’re signing up for.

Step 3: Get the Brand Out There

Now it’s time to bring in attention.

I’m working on an automation that pulls in high-quality leads every week, sends them personalized emails, and books meetings - all on autopilot.

This is where things get fun.
It’s fully hands-off once set up.
The goal is to help you build attention and land clients while you sleep (literally).
